In terms of color matching, the color system for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics was designed after the exploration of the representative colors in Chinese history, the refinement of Chinese color culture, and the analysis of the city colors of the three competition areas of Beijing, Yanqing and Zhangjiakou. including main color, secondary color, and auxiliary color. The inspiration for the design of this group of costumes comes from the intangible cultural heritage of Hebei “Yuxian Paper-cut”. After obtaining the copyright consent of the paper-cut works of Zhou Liwei, the inheritor of Hebei’s Yu County, Designer Ding Jie used traditional Chinese elements such as tiger-headed hats and fish every year to break and regroup the arrangement of carp leaping over the dragon gate, and subtly integrate the fish into the cute tiger pattern. The creative patterns are distributed on the shoulders, chest and trousers, and snowflakes woven with Chinese knots are embellished on the chest, forehead, and ruyi patterns, implying the expectation and blessing of the Winter Olympics.
